About Me

Hello, I’m Rob

I’m a registered Social Worker with Social Work England (Registration Number: SW129690) and 18 years’ experience working across adult social care and support services. My career has been built on a genuine commitment to helping people live as independently, safely and meaningfully as possible.

Having started my career as a Support Worker and progressed through a variety of frontline and professional roles, I have developed a deep understanding of the challenges people face and the importance of providing practical, person-centred support.

Mr Professional Journey

My experience spans a wide range of adult social care settings, including community social work, hospital discharge services, learning disability services, safeguarding work and multidisciplinary health and social care teams. Over the years, I have supported adults with complex needs, their families and carers through some of the most important decisions in their lives.

Qualifications and Specialist Expertise

I hold a BA (Hons) in Social Work and a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Psychology. My commitment to continuous professional development has led me to achieve postgraduate qualifications in specialist social work practice, Practice Education and the Mental Capacity Act.

I am also:

• A Qualified Best Interest Assessor (BIA)

• A Qualified Practice Educator

• An experienced supervisor and mentor

• Experienced in Mental Capacity Assessments

• Skilled in safeguarding and risk management

• Experienced in court work and complex case management

• Committed to strengths-based and person-centred practice

My Approach

I believe that good social work starts with listening.

Every person has their own experiences, strengths, challenges and goals. My role is to work alongside people, helping them understand their options, navigate complex systems and make informed decisions about their lives.

I am passionate about promoting independence while ensuring safety and dignity. Whether supporting someone through an assessment, helping families understand social care processes, or advocating for an individual’s rights, I aim to provide a service that is professional, compassionate and tailored to each person’s unique circumstances.

Why I started RJ Social Work Practice

After years of working within statutory services, I established RJ Social Work Practice to provide personalised, professional support that puts people first.

I understand that navigating health and social care systems can often feel overwhelming. My goal is to offer expert guidance, independent assessments and practical support that empowers people to move forward with confidence.

At the heart of everything I do is a commitment to treating people with respect, promoting their strengths and helping them achieve the best possible outcomes.
